Park City Film: ‘Radical’
Park City Film and the Park City Library will host a free screening of Christopher Zalla’s “Radical,” rated PG-13, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. “Radical,” winner of the 2023 Sundance Film Festival’s Festival Favorite, is based on a true story. A frustrated teacher, played by Eugenio Derbez, uses a new method to reach students in a town plagued by neglect, corruption, and violence. The screening, presented in Spanish with English subtitles, is part of Park City Film’s Cine en EspaƱol Series presented with Park City Library and supported with grant funding from Park City Municipal. Karla Bonoff at the Egyptian Theatre
Renowned singer-songwriter Karla Bonoff, whose tunes such as “Home,” “Tell Me Why” and “Someone to Lay Down Beside Me,” have been covered over the past 40 years by an array of respective artists including Bonnie Raitt, Wynonna and Linda Ronstadt, will wrap up a four-night Park City residency on April 13 at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. Tickets range from $33-$59. Virtual Author Event: Xochitl Gonzalez
The Summit County Library will host a virtual event with New York Times best-selling author Xochitl Gonzalez, a 2023 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Commentary, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17. Gonzalez will talk about her news novel “Anita de Monte Laughs Last,” which examines how the elite control recognition through power, love and art. Park City Follies Opens April 18
Park City Follies, the musical spoof that pokes fun at all things Park City, opens a three-weekend run on April 18 at the Egyptian Theatre.
