Freestyle Ultimate Airwave Competition

This free event will feature most of the athletes from the Stifel U.S. Freestyle Ski Team aerials roster, along with athletes from Argentina, Australia, Switzerland and Canada. Olympic gold medalists Ashley Caldwell, Chris Lillis, and Justin Schoenefeld are slated to compete. Qualification begins at noon, and the top 12 finishers for men and women will advance to the finals, set to begin at 4:05 p.m. Following the FIS Grand Prix event will be the Flying Ace Allstars show on the water ramps – a unique opportunity to watch the U.S. athletes showcase world-class tricks to the public. Tickets are required to attend the Flying Ace show.

Lansford Warren Hastings’ “Emigrants’ Guide to Oregon and California” promised a route that would be a “short-cut” for migrants heading west. Published in 1845, this new guidebook, along with Hastings’ personal promise, led the Donner-Reed Party across Summit County and Utah before they ultimately met their tragic fate in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Join Lyuba Basin, Rare Books Librarian at the Marriott Library, as she shares Lansford Hastings’ original “Emigrants’ Guide” from the Library’s Special Collections and explores the Donner Party’s efforts to follow the new route.

Park City’s 9/11 national day of service and remembrance. Volunteers can sign up for a project on JustServe.org from over 25 Serve Park City projects. The day will begin with an 8 a.m. breakfast in City Park on Park Avenue. A moment of remembrance will be observed for those who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11/01. McPolin Barn and Farmhouse Tour

This educational tour of the McPolin Barn and Farmhouse is led by volunteer docents who will take participants on a journey through the history of the Farm from homesteading and dairy farming to open space. Free shuttle service offered from the PC MARC as there is no parking at the Farm. Tickets for July 13 are on sale via Eventbrite for $10 per person, and tours are approximately one hour. Kids are welcome; however, tours are tailored toward an adult audience. Tickets go on sale two weeks in advance of tour date or day of tour if space available. Monster Drawing Rally
