Park City Book Festival Seeks Authors

The inaugural Park City Book Festival is recruiting local authors for its Oct. 1 event at the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave. In celebration of the Utah Book Festival and in collaboration with Utah Humanities, the Park City Library will host the three-day Park City Book Festival. This event will bring people who love books together to share in activities and discussions exploring literary themes. The first 12 authors to sign up will be provided a table on the library’s second floor on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. To sign up, visit tinyurl.com/mr4d6jew. Main Street walking tours

Park City Museum hosts historic Main Street guided walking tours at 2 p.m. through Aug. 30. These tours run about 75 minutes and they give groups of up to 15 the chance to see historic sites and hear about how Park City transitioned from a mining town into a winter sports mecca. Park City Farmers Market

The Park City Farmers Market runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. every Wednesday throughout the summer at Park City Mountain’s First Time chair lift parking lot. Admission is free. The Park City Farmers Market, which has been running for 21 years under Volker Ritzinger, features fresh, non-GMO produce, local meats and other local offerings. Last Friday Gallery Stroll 

Park City Gallery Association will host its monthly Last Friday Gallery Stroll from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30. The public can visit local galleries, enjoy complimentary refreshments, see new works and talk with artists for free throughout the event. Echo Church Open Through Labor Day Weekend

Echo Community and Historical Organization has opened the historic Echo Church for summer tourists through Labor Day weekend. The church, located at 60 Temple Ln., in Echo, is currently showing “Chugging, Screeching, Rumbling, Billowing: Utah’s Industrial Revolution” exhibit from the Utah Division of Arts & Museums. The public can visit the church from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday and on Labor Day. The church will continue to be open Saturdays through Labor Day weekend.
