Parkite Olympian Grant Fisher advances to 5,000-meter final Saturday
Parkite Olympian Grant Fisher advanced to the 5,000-meter final Saturday. He did so by finishing fourth in his first round heat, with a time of 13:52.44. There were two heats Wednesday at the Stade de France, with the top-eight runners advancing from each to form the 16-man final. That final will take place Saturday 11:50 a.m. MDT and can be live-streamed on NBC’s Peacock service.
Miners football holds Red and White game, carnival Friday night
The Miners football squad will hold their annual Red and White game and carnival Friday night. The game will be a 5-6 p.m. scrimmage at Dozier Field featuring all of Park City’s teams. The carnival will then run from 6 to 8 p.m., staffed by the players. Entry to the game will be free, and the carnival will require paid tickets to participate in the games. All of the proceeds from the carnival’s food and games will go toward the football program.
Woodward hosts Friday Night Lights race this week
Woodward Park City will be hosting a Friday Night Lights race this week, partnering with Jibe Cycleworks in Salt Lake City. The race will be short track, featuring climbs, technical rock sections and flow. It will begin at 4:30 p.m. Woodward is welcoming male and female riders of all skill levels, with several ability and age categories for each. The last race will be the pro money event and will wrap up at 7:55 p.m.
Woodward to hsot another Beer Yoga event Thursday
Woodward Park City will host another Beer Yoga event Thursday. From 6-8 p.m., yoga participants can practice, meet new people and drink some beer together. The hour yoga session from 6-7 p.m. will be led by Enlighten Wellness instructors. Wasatch Brewery and Squatters will provide refreshments from 7-8 p.m. Participants need to bring their own yoga mats to the event, which will continue through September.
