Miners girls soccer falls to Crimson Cliffs Saturday
The Miners girls soccer squad fell at Crimson Cliffs Saturday 2-1 in overtime. Crimson Cliffs broke things open in the first half, scoring first, and Park City recovered in the second with an equalizer. Crimson Cliffs won with their goal in the game’s first overtime period. The loss drops the Miners to 3-2 on their young season, back at it Monday on the road versus Stansbury at 3:30 p.m. The Stansbury game opens up regional play, which will run through early October.
Flying Aces return to the UOP this weekend
The Flying Aces aerials shows return to the Utah Olympic Park Friday and Saturday nights. Patrons will see Olympic and national team aerialists soar up to 60 feet in the air before landing in the UOP pool. The shows will run from 6:30 to 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $20 a person, with a four-pack available for $70. The Flying Aces will soar at the UOP through Labor Day weekend.
South Summit football opens season with loss Friday
The South Summit football squad opened up their season Friday with a 35-0 loss to Beaver. Beaver jumped all over South Summit early, taking a 21-0 lead into the halftime break, which they expanded upon in the third quarter. South Summit still has nine regular-season games left on their schedule, picking up next this Friday with their rivalry contest against North Summit at 7 p.m. on the road.
North Summit football gets off to a winning start Friday
The North Summit football squad got off to a winning start Friday, defeating South Sevier 47-14. The win will help North Summit confidence-wise heading into their week two rivalry game with South Summit. North Summit will play host, with the game kicking off Friday at 7 p.m. The South Summit game will also serve as North Summit’s home-opener.
