Miners girls soccer wins both games this week

The Miners girls soccer squad won both of their games this week against Stansbury and Cottonwood. Park City defeated Stansbury Monday 3-0 on the road, then Cottonwood 8-1 Wednesday, again away from home. The Miners are now 5-2 on their young season and just began regional play. They’ll next return home Monday to face Jordan at Quinn’s Junction at 3:30 p.m. 

Miners boys golf dominates second match of the season

The Miners boys golf squad dominated their second match of the season Wednesday at Murray. Park City shot a 280, four-man team score, beating second place Stansbury by 21 strokes. The team had defeated Stansbury by 16 strokes in their first match Aug. 13. Next up for the Miners is a Friday match at Copper Golf Course in Magna, which will begin at 8 a.m. Park City will take six players to the match. 

Deer Valley will host another Brews and Tunes event Saturday

Deer Valley Resort will host another Brews and Tunes event Saturday from noon to 2:30 p.m. At Snowshoe Tommy’s atop Bald Mountain, guests can enjoy beers, live entertainment and takeaway food. A lift ticket is required to access the event. Deer Valley will be holding these events every Saturday until Sept. 7. 

Woodward hosting third Summer Race Series event Thursday

Woodward Park City will host their third Summer Race Series event Thursday. Entry will be $5 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Riders aged 7-and-up of all abilities are welcome. Woodward will announce the course on race day. There will be refreshments and awards handed out after the race, with space all night for spectating friends and family. There will be numerous age divisions for racers. Runs will go from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m., with the awards ceremony beginning at 7:45.
