Richard Jerome Altman

April 27, 1934 – January 26, 2024

Richard Altman passed away peacefully in his home on January 26th 2024,
surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his wife Bernice Altman, who
died on January 6 2024 and his brother Norman Altman. He is survived by his
children, Michael Altman; Russell and Kitty Altman; Adrian Vance; grandchildren
Justin and Megan Altman, Olivia Altman and Maxwell Altman, great grandchildren Leo Altman and Violet Altman; sister in law Shirley Altman, brother in law and sister in law Joel and Maxine Hirsch.
Richard was born in Brooklyn, New York to parents Bertha Weinstein and Andrew Altman. Graduating in January 1957 from the Chiropractic Institute of New York, and then post graduate school in California, going on to become a Chiropractic Doctor and teacher on Long Island where he and his family lived for many years. A love of the mountains and skiing brought he and his wife to Park City, where they found a wonderful community that they both cherished. Richard was ever the optimist, believing in positive thinking and setting goals. Throughout his life he helped many family, friends and colleagues find their way in the world. He loved to discuss politics and religion, and had a great sense of humor. He started painting late in life, but became a prolific artist, leaving behind many beautiful works of art. A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he enjoyed watching and laughing with the little ones. The light of his life was his wife of 69 years, Bernice. Meeting as teenagers, they had a wonderful life together filled with travel, friends and laughter.
Richard was laid to rest in Park City Cemetery on Thursday Feb 1st 2024.
