Last week, a boy dropped roughly 30 feet to the ground after falling from the Tombstone ski lift at The Canyons resort in western Summit County.

” a juvenile is dangling from the [Tombstone] lift ,” states an account of a 911 call placed to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 20 at 2:44 p.m.

Joshua Redfern, who was on the lift in front of the boy, said the lift stopped then he heard the boy screaming and watched him fall.

“I didn’t hear the kid screaming anymore, which made me think that he was knocked unconscious or even worse,” wrote Redfern in a Feb. 22 e-mail. “As the lift started to move again I could see the child laying there on his side.”

According to Park City Fire District spokeswoman Tricia Hurd, the boy was transported for treatment to Primary Children’s Medical Center.
