Main Street gearing up for Halloween celebration
The Historic Main Street Business Alliance will host Halloween on Main on Monday, Oct. 31 from 3-5 p.m. For the event, Main Street will be closed between Cows and the post office and participating businesses up and down the street will offer trick-or-treating opportunities. Following the trick-or-treating that day, the annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade will run on Main Street, featuring a whole pack of costumed canines. This year, the route will begin at the post office and finish at 9th Street. Dressed-up-dogs (on leashes) and their owners should meet in front of the post office at 4:30 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. Norwegian Outdoor Exploration Center Celebrating silver anniversary
The Norwegian Outdoor Exploration Center will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a party on Nov. 19 at Deer Valley Resort’s Silver Lake Lodge. The evening will offer the opportunity to reflect on the organization’s first quarter-century and look ahead to the coming years. The event will feature music and dancing to the Jor Muscalino Band, along with dinner and more. Tickets to the event are $125. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and the Utah Conservatory will present the second annual Angels in Autumn, a benefit for the two organizations, on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s. The evening will feature a silent auction and a concert featuring soloist Debra Cook and other conservatory musicians. Following the show, there will be a reception and refreshments for all. The suggested donation for concert attendees is $45. Proceeds from the event will benefit the conservatory’s scholarship fund and the church’s programs.
