Editor:

Summit County Friends of Animals would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their tremendous support of the two book signing events for “Tails of Devotion” held this past weekend. Both events sold out of books 100 percent of all proceeds benefited Friends of Animals and Best Friends Animal Society. A special thanks to the Spotted Frog Bookstore and Dolly’s Bookstore for being such gracious hosts.

Also, words cannot express how amazing it was for Amy Tan, who wrote the foreword in “Tails of Devotion,” to visit our little town to support our cause and sign the books.

Finally, thank you to Emily Scott Pottruck for writing a truly wonderful book that brings awareness to the cause of animal rescue organizations as well as how the bond between people and the animals that they love transcends age, gender, race and social class.

Sincerely,

Charlene Brewster

Protecting our children

Editor:

I would like to thank you for your continued efforts to protect our children from Internet pornography. There is still a lot to do so I encourage you to support the following initiatives on the state and federal level:

Empowering the private sector to take legal action against pornographers who allow minors to access pornographic materials.

Requiring a pornographer to restrict access to the pornography they are distributing through some means, such as the Internet channels created by the CP80 solution (www.cp80.com).

Requiring an ISP to assist in the identification of pornographers who have violated the laws and allowed minors to access pornographic material online.

Sincerely,

Jessica Balkma
