The family of Bill Corliss would like to thank the many wonderful people of Park City who showed us so much kindness and gave us great comfort and support after the untimely death of our beloved Bill. The thoughtfulness carried us through this difficult time and we will be forever grateful.
We would also like to thank the cycling community for their efforts in memorializing Bill’s love of cycling.

Anonymous 911 heroes
Editor:
The personnel of the Park City Fire Service District would like to express our utmost appreciation to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center. April 9 through April 14 has been set aside as National Telecommunications Week.
The competent professionals in the Summit County Dispatch Center receive all the emergency 911 calls for Summit County. They must determine the type and quantity of resources necessary to manage the emergency, and ensure those resources respond immediately to mitigate the situation. Emergency 911 dispatchers are the unseen and unrecognized anonymous heroes on the other end of what is often a desperate call for help.
Summit County’s emergency 911 dispatchers provide the first and possibly the most vital connection to the overall emergency response network. Please join the Park City Fire Service District as we salute and thank the Summit County Emergency Dispatchers for their dedication and service to the Summit County communities.

Litter on our streets
Editor:
I don’t know about your other readers, but I am getting nauseated seeing the increasing amount of litter (bottles, plastic bags and anything you can imagine) alongside our pretty mountain roads. It’s getting so bad, it may be too late to do anything about it.
Park City is such a beautiful place, and anyone who has lived here as long as I have (since 1989) has seen how much it has changed. But change doesn’t have to mean having no respect for our land.
What can we do as residents to not only clean it up, but keep it clean?
Sincerely,
Rick Rouse

Cheerleading program
Editor:
The 2005-2006 Park City High School Cheerleaders would like to thank all of the sponsors who have contributed to the success of the cheerleading program. We’d especially like to thank Deer Valley Ski Resort and Park City Mountain Resort for their continued support. The cheerleading coaches are already preparing for the 2006-2007 season and are looking forward to the continued support of the community. We would also like to thank all of the Mini Miner Cheerleaders who participated in this year’s fundraiser and look forward to their enthusiasm and smiles again this fall.
Sincerely,

Talent show for People’s Health
Editor:
Thursday, March 30, was a star-studded evening at The Eccles Center. Seventeen-year-old Park City High School senior and impresario, Ms. Elisa Patterson, gifted our community with an event featuring outstanding neighborhood talent. The Park City Talent Show featured some of Park City’s finest musicians, dancers and singers. The crowded audience cheered each performance.
The beneficiary of this production was the People’s Health Clinic, a Park City nonprofit. The clinic, staffed mostly by volunteers, offers medical care to those who lack insurance or means to pay. Since 2005, 2,500 patient visits have been logged at our facility on Iron Horse Drive.
The People’s Health Clinic would like to express our sincere gratitude to Ms. Patterson, who produced this performance to benefit our clinic. We would also like to thank The Eccles Center and staff, The Park Record, KPCW, Park City TV, City Hall officials and staff, sponsors, donors and, most especially, all the talented artists who practiced and performed. We wish to acknowledge the students in all of our local schools who so generously gave of their time. Park City is indeed blessed to have so many talented and giving people in one miraculous city. Thank you all for a beautiful evening.
Very truly yours,
Frances Umlauf, board member

All is impermanent
Editor:
From my monitor at my home in the South Pacific, I read the following: “Immigration debates dividing Park City,” “Gang-member stabbing sought” and perhaps the saddest of all, “Mt. Air Cafe to close.”
These truly are times that try men’s souls and clear-cut evidence of the truth in Eastern philosophy when it points out “All is impermanent.”
Much aloha to the people of Park City.
