You have probably noticed the pipeline construction along Rasmussen Road that has continued through the winter. This work is part of a major upgrade of the East Canyon trunk line, which extends from Park City north and west to the East Canyon Water Reclamation facility in Jeremy Ranch. The five-and-a-half-mile upgrade to this trunk line is nearing completion, with remaining construction and surface restoration to take place by mid-summer. The pipeline project has had its share of challenges, but the finished product will ensure sufficient wastewater capacity through the projected growth and build-out of our world-class community.
The Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District wishes to thank all the residents and businesses that were inconvenienced by the project for their understanding and cooperation during construction. A special thank you is extended to the residents of Spring Creek, Ranch Place, Silver Springs, businesses along Rasmussen Road and others whose daily routines were affected during the construction. Should you have any questions or would like to visit the reclamation facilities, please contact us.
Thank You,
Michael D. Luers

Thanks to Matt James and The Park Record for the wonderful article in the Saturday, March 11, edition about my experience representing two movies at the Berlin Film Festival last month. The Park Record has always been and continues to be supportive of local artists, which is one of the many reasons I choose to live and work here instead of Los Angeles.
In addition to Matt’s great article, the movie stills that were printed with the text made the piece as fun to look at as it was to read. The two pictures from the short film "Hold Please" were frames taken from the 35mm film print. However, the two stills from "Jupiter Landing" were taken by local photographer, Jill Orschel.
I am continually in awe of Jill’s great talent, so it’s important to me that she be credited. I have worked with Jill on several projects and her work is consistently brilliant. I’m proud to have her pictures represent our film, and since she, too, is a local in one of the most supportive communities in the world, I’d like you to be proud of her too.

Need for hospital
To the Park City Mayor, City Planner and other elected officials:
I started writing this e-mail several days ago, when suddenly I found myself personally experiencing the need for a hospital in our community. I am just now getting time to send this message.
Ten days ago, two of my sons and my husband were involved in a construction accident in Salt Lake City. One of my sons was severely hurt. Because he received emergency medical attention quickly, he has returned home to continue a lengthy recovery.
I realize that this is not an uncommon occurrence. What makes it an important part of my message, is that 80 percent of his construction projects are in Summit County. Thank goodness, on that day he was working in Salt Lake.
I am grateful that a hospital will soon be available for everyone’s medical needs. What a wonderful gift to give our community. I guess you could say that my excitement and anticipation for a community hospital have doubled the past ten days.
Thank you for considering the urgency of this community need.
Sincerely,
Becky Sargent

Paint the Town, Arts-Kids annual fundraiser, was held Friday, March 3. A wonderful array of talented artists was the highlight of the evening as they created original works, which then became part of the live auction. Over a hundred fantastic silent auctions were also donated by local businesses. Music was provided by Small House Quartet and Mother Lode Canyon Band, and gourmet hors d’oeuvres by Bacchus Wine Bar.
A big thank you to Dana Williams and Sally Elliott, who became living canvasses, sporting coats of many colors as participants threw paint "shots" at them. We want to send a special thank you to our presenting sponsors, Whitney Wallace and Nancy Williams, and the many other sponsors for their generous support. They, along with the Board of Trustees, volunteers, and numerous friends of Arts-Kids helped to make Paint the Town a success. The kids of Arts-Kids will continue to benefit from the ongoing support of local businesses and residents who believe that every child can grow and thrive through the creative arts.
