I always enjoy your column, Tom Clyde, but was particularly struck by your recent column, “Playing in the river.” Being the same generation as you, the column brought back fond memories of riding bikes with friends a mile or two out of town to play and fish in the local creek. As long as we were back by the 5 o’clock whistle of the local factory, our parents were happy to let us free roam the town and countryside.
Your efforts to help out your neighbors was heartwarming. Stories like yours happen all over our country every day. If we paid attention to those stories instead of the knuckleheads in D.C., we’d all feel better about the future!
Keep up the good work!
