A recent arrival to the area wrote bemoaning that The Park Record would publish letters from readers who were critical of former President Trump and Justice Thomas.
This new resident must be grateful that they have chosen Park City as their home. Folks who live here are welcoming to people of all walks of life, faiths and political persuasions. It matters less to locals who you root for in sports, what your favorite music is, or what political party you belong to than if you are a good human, can grill a good steak (or portabella mushroom for those vegetarians), or have a dog.
Over 95% percent of the people who live in this area live better than 99% of the world, and we are a small town in Utah, so it would be fairly easy to assume that Park City is full of Fox News drones.
But, thankfully, this area has attracted intelligent, compassionate people who oppose a convicted felon, serial liar and wannabe dictator from becoming president again so that he can, among other things, dismiss criminal charges against himself, roll back common sense environmental protections, essential human rights, and allow Russia to “do whatever the hell they want” (Donald Trump, Feb 10), among other heinous policies outlined very clearly in Project 2025 (which should be required reading for every American so that they understand exactly what the MAGA Republicans’ plan is.)
These Park City locals also disapprove of a supremely compromised Judge Thomas.
We are feel proud that The Record publishes letters from all points of view, and that the local community welcomes people from all viewpoints and persuasions.
Perhaps the local paper in Sandpoint, Idaho, would be a subscription more suited to your tastes?
