Art lovers have the opportunity to expand their minds on the last Friday of each month during the Park City Gallery Stroll.
The free event, hosted by the Park City Gallery Association, usually runs from 6-9 p.m. and spotlights an average of 19 galleries that represent award-winning international, national, local, and contributing artists. Gallery Association member galleries can be identified by the Gallery Association flags that hang outside the doors.
In addition, there are also a handful of non-member galleries that participate in the event, which elevates the town’s art market and boosts Utah’s unique contributions. The galleries, which offer an array of mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, and mixed media, choose their own offerings during the monthly celebrations.
Some galleries will take advantage of the allotted time to open new exhibits, introduce new artists, or invite artists from around the world to do demonstrations, which gives strollers the opportunity to talk and mingle with artists and gallery owners.
Others will use the time to fundraise for various nonprofits or work with other arts organizations to provide food and drinks and hold opportunity drawings.

Art and Music Gallery Strolls
Throughout the year, the Park City Gallery Association also sets aside some last Friday dates to host Art and Music Gallery Strolls, which feature live music performed by local acoustic musicians and singer-songwriters
The Art and Music Gallery Strolls are made possible by the gallery association’s partnership with Mountain Town Music, a local live-music nonprofit organization, and the Arts Council of Park City and Summit County, one of the oldest arts and culture nonprofit organizations in Park City that serves the creative community through arts programming, providing valuable resources and cultivating connections.
The History of Park City Gallery Stroll
The Park City Gallery Stroll has existed in one form or another since 1989, when a handful of local artists and crafters lined up and displayed their wares on Main Street, with the idea of promoting community.
As more galleries opened and introduced more local, national, and international artists to Park City, the galley stroll grew in popularity and, with the help of the Kimball Park City Arts Festival, turn the town into a visual-art destination.
Most of Park City’s galleries are located on Main Street, but there are some galleries scattered throughout the area. The best way to find participating galleries is to visit parkcitygalleryassociation.com.
