Happy new year! As we stand on the threshold of 2024, let us collectively welcome the promise of a new chapter with open hearts and renewed optimism. The turning of the calendar invites us to reflect on the journey behind us, learn from the experiences we’ve garnered, and step forward with resilience and determination.

Our ongoing evolution sparked a 2023 review of our marketing concepts. As a result, we’ll launch a new Park City brand this year and our VisitParkCity.com website will be redesigned to reflect our new brand image.

In addition, in 2024, we will address the growing need for a website specific to our partners and community. For example, we want to make it simpler for you to find local specials and unique events at your favorite businesses. Our membership is expanding, and we want a site that offers partners more immediate access to our ever-improving resources, services and events.

Our sustainability commitment means we are more active on issues like traffic, accessible housing, childcare, health insurance, staffing, and responsible development, and we want to keep everyone up to date.

We think a new, locally focused site is the best way to go.

Our Visitor Information Center in Kimball Junction does a beautiful job orienting visitors to Park City and our “Visit with Care” ethos. Our next goal will be to further enhance our visitor management work, and bring these services directly to where people gather.

In 2024, you will see a mobile visitor center staffed up and ready to share timely tips on lodging, using transit, food, shopping, arts and culture, responsibly sharing the land and more. We tapped into the talent of local youth, too, working on the mobile unit’s design with the PCCAPS program at Park City High.

We expect to hear early this year that we have been awarded Green Destinations Certification, a status accredited by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council for adhering to 170 of the highest standards of transparent, evidence-based sustainability practices. This will be a win for the whole community, since auditors evaluate practices ranging from historic preservation and water usage to wildlife management and emissions reduction.

For the third year, we have a board-approved legislative agenda and we’re ready to advocate for Park City’s business interests at the capitol. From taxation to transportation, housing, education, water and the arts, we will keep our members apprised with weekly updates.

As we look forward to a new year, I can promise you that we will strive to better serve our community in new ways in 2024.

May 2024 be a canvas of possibilities, where each day is an opportunity for growth, connection, and the fulfillment of new ideas and positive change. So here’s to a year of new beginnings, adventures, and the boundless potential that awaits us. Welcome to 2024!
