BalletNext’s ‘The Best of Sleeping Beauty’

BalletNext will present “The Best of Sleeping Beauty” at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 20, at the Park City Library‘s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. The production will feature highlights of the Maurice Petipa ballet, accompanied by String FX, which will perform the Tchaikovky score live. Those who donate $50 will get to arrive an hour early and participate in a “Sleeping Beauty”-inspired craft. Park City Institute Main Stage Performances

Park City Institute will present Michael Libecki, National Geographic Adventurer of the Year, Dell Ambassador and Adidas Athlete, at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 22, at the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts, 1750 Kearns Blvd. Libecki has completed more than 85 major global expeditions out of a personal goal of 100, and he discusses the concepts of pre-joy and joy throughout his presentation. Park City Institute will also present Farrell Dillon at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at the Eccles Center. As a Chavez School of Magic graduate, Dillon has appeared on all eight seasons of “Masters of Illusion,” “The Today Show” and many others. Children’s Dance Theatre: ‘The Umbrella’

Tanner Dance and the Children’s Dance Theatre will present its 75th anniversary show, “The Umbrella,” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 22, and 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South, in Salt Lake City. ‘Mary Poppins’ at the Egyptian Theatre

Ziegfeld Theater Company will present Cameron Mackintosh’s musical “Mary Poppins” over two weekends, March 22-24 and March 28-31, at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, “Mary Poppins” delighted Broadway audiences for more than 2,500 performances and received nominations for nine Olivier and seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
