Park City Mountain Resort

Park City Mountain Resort, as of Friday, Dec. 1, is reporting 3 new inches of snow for a total depth of 26 inches, operating with 6 lifts open and 36 runs. Friday, Dec. 15 with be the resort’s Benefit Day where lift tickets are only $20 per person to help raise funds for the Park City Historical Society and Museum. Tickets must be purchased by Dec. 14. The Canyons Resort

Utah ski resorts

The following Utah ski resorts are open and scheduled to open weather permitting: Alta is reporting a 44-inch snow base with 95 runs and 7 lifts open; Beaver Mountain, Dec. 15; Brian Head is currently closed for snow making; Brighton is reporting a 52-inch snow base with 30 runs and 4 lifts open; Powder Mountain is reporting 30 inches of snow with 9 runs and 1 lift open.; Snowbasin is reporting a 32-inch snow base with 27 runs and 4 lifts open; Snowbird is reporting 39 inches of snow with 50 runs and 6 lifts open; Solitude is reporting an 34-inch snow base with 10 runs and 7 lifts open; Sundance, Dec. 8; and Wolf Mountain is reporting a 19-inch snow base with 1 run and 1 lift open.

Cross-country skiing

The White Pine Touring cross-country track is now open with 5k of groomed trail. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more information on rental prices or lessons, call 649-6249.

Wasatch-Cache National Forest

Mirror Lake Highway, S.R. 150, is now closed at mile marker 14 at Soapstone Basin. All campgrounds are currently closed and the ranger district is waiting for enough snowfall to start grooming cross-country trails. For more information, contact the Kamas Ranger District at (435) 783-4338.

Utah Avalanche Center

The Utah Avalanche Center, as of Friday, Dec. 1, is reporting a moderate avalanche danger on upper-elevation slopes steeper than 35 degrees with recent deposits of wind-drifted snow. Moderate means human-triggered avalanches are possible. Any avalanching will most likely be the result of recent winds. Most areas out of the wind-affected terrain have a low danger.
