The 2024-25 Cup season will begin in Ruka, Finland, Nov. 30.
U.S. Biathlon names senior team coach
U.S. Biathlon named their first senior team coach Mike Gibson on Monday. Gibson is a retired biathlete himself who became a coach over a decade ago. He will now manage national development camps, support athletes and work internationally during the competition season. U.S. Biathlon President & CEO Jack Gierhart said he can’t wait to welcome Gibson aboard. “He is a seasoned professional who has already made significant contributions to the organization,” Gierhart said. “Mike knows our athletes, our programs and community, and is the perfect person to add depth to our coaching staff to help our athletes reach their true potential and our team achieve our goals. We are really excited to be working with him as we head to the 2026 Olympic Winter Games.” Gibson’s senior team provides non-national team athletes opportunities to rise the ranks of the sport.
