October 8, 1963 – December 26, 2023

Carol L. Allen of Heber City, Utah passed away in her sleep on December 26, 2023 after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carol (Tazzy) is the daughter of Dr. John and Mary Allen, who both proceeded her in death. She grew up in Springfield, Illinois. Early in life she practiced ballet. She was a member of the Illini Country Club honing her skills with swimming, diving, tennis, and golf. She graduated from Sacred Heart HS, the University of Vermont, the University de Grenoble, and the American Graduate School of International Management.

Carol’s love for life would find her travelling the world and making friends everywhere she went. She loved animals of all types, especially her wolves. She lived in multiple major cities where she worked in the financial world before ultimately settling in as a consultant and organic farmer, lastly in Heber City. She loved the outdoors and was an avid hiker, snow skier, and endurance horseback rider.

Carol is survived by her loving horse Monsoon and her dog Lucca. Her brothers Rob (Patti) and David (Druanne) of Illinois. Step-mother Lynne Allen of Illinois. Two step-brothers John (Jennifer) of Texas, and Michael (Sara) of Illinois. Step-sister Jaclyn of Ireland. Her many nieces and nephews Chris, Scott, Tess, Ruby, Hudson, Brayden, Stella, Jack and Piper.

In typical “Carol Style” she enjoyed a celebration of life in Park City, Utah on July 29, 2023. She didn’t want to miss the celebration and the time spent with many of her friends. At Carol’s request, there will be no funeral or other services. Her cremated remains will be spread across several states by her friends. If you so choose, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to Defenders of Wildlife, Nuzzles & Co., or your own local pet shelter.
