Wyatt Rasmussen

November 11, 2010 – December 23, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved cowboy Wyatt Taylor Rasmussen, 13, of Wanship, Utah. He passed away on December 23, 2023, in an ATV accident in the desert outside our family’s ranch in Salome, Arizona. Wyatt was born November 11, 2010 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mark and Brandy Rasmussen. He was an adored baby boy and little brother to his three sisters. He loved animals and had a passion for people. He always had a smile, a joke, and a secret handshake for everyone. Wyatt had the unique ability to make friends with everyone no matter their age and made them feel like he was their best friend. He loved horses, skateboarding, scooters, scuba diving, swimming, hanging out with the cowboys and playing games with friends. He was an excellent horseman and loved to compete. Wyatt was a shining light in the ranch sorting community across the Western U.S. He won ranch sorting state titles in Utah, Idaho, and Colorado. Wyatt had a tender spot for his mom who he loved dearly and welcomed every opportunity to ride with. He also loved helping her at Creekside and PEEK, sharing the ranch with all who visited, and loved nothing more than antagonizing his sisters. He had unwavering faith and idolized his dad. He followed in his dad’s footsteps by taking care of his mom and sisters and was such a compassionate and kind young man. His work ethic was admirable as he was always happy to jump in and lend a helping hand. He was a true cowboy; always took his hat off for the flag, shook hands like a man, looked you in the eye, respected others, took care of the girls and protected the horses, livestock, and animals. Wyatt made a positive impact on the lives of all who knew him and will forever be remembered for his fun-loving personality, big heart, and adventurous spirit. He is survived by his parents Mark and Brandy Rasmussen, older sisters Sophie, Sidney, and Sadey of Wanship, Utah, Aunts and Uncles Shelly and Paul Rohrbacker of Placentia, California and Lisa and Jimmy Thor of Las Vegas, Nevada, Grandparents Will and Robbie Rasmussen of Lake Almanor, California, Fred and Terry Day of Placentia, California, and Wini Daniel of Walnut Creek, California and many friends who were like family from all over. A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain Life Church in Park City, Utah.
