Bernice M. Altman of Park City, UT passed away on January 6th, 2024 after a brief illness, surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Ernst and Luba Hirsch, Bernice was born in New York City, NY. Bernice is survived by her husband Richard Altman; children Michael Altman, Russell and Kitty Altman and Adrian Vance; grandchildren Justin and Megan Altman, Olivia Altman and Maxwell Altman; great grandchildren Leo Altman and Violet Altman; brother Joel and sister-in-law Maxine Hirsch; sister in law Shirley Altman.
A long-time resident of Park City, Bernice was a fixture on Main Street for many years. She worked in several boutiques, most recently Alpaca International. She loved meeting new people and her outgoing, bubbly personality made her a great salesperson. People just loved talking to her and she made friends wherever she went. With a great sense of humor, she could always make you laugh. Bernice was a fashionista, rarely passing up a gorgeous handbag or a great pair of shoes, never leaving the house without her hair and makeup done and wearing the right accessories. She adored animals and babies, was a doting mother, grandmother and great grandmother, taking every opportunity to brag about her grandkids and great grandkids. Kind and compassionate, when you were with her you always felt loved and appreciated. Bernice and her husband Richard met as teenagers and were married for an amazing 69 years. They moved to Park City many years ago and made many friendships that lasted years. The world will be a dimmer place without her light in it.
Bernice was laid to rest in Park City Cemetery on Friday January 19th, 2024.
