The Summit County Sheriff’s Office this week released the name of a Cache County woman killed in a snowmobile accident in Summit County Feb. 25.

Peggy Maughan Bankhead, 49, died when her snowmobile went off a roughly 100-foot cliff near Whitney Reservoir in the Uinta Mountains.

Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue volunteers were called to the scene around 2:21 p.m. Sheriff Dave Edmunds said the victim was an experienced snowmobile operator who strayed from the trail.

A Park City woman claims her purse may have been stolen at The Canyons resort on Feb. 21 at 11:36 a.m.

No injuries were reported as a result of a traffic accident that involved a Ford Taurus and Chevrolet pickup truck on Feb. 21 at 3:36 p.m.

A 17-year-old female in Oakley reportedly became sick after drinking too much mouthwash on Feb. 21 at 3:45 p.m.

A Taylorsville woman reported a hit-and-run traffic accident to the Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 21. No injuries were reported.

No injuries were reported as a result of a traffic accident that involved a pickup truck and a minivan in western Summit County on Feb. 21 at 5:21 p.m.

A man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol in Summit County on Feb. 21 at 11:59 p.m.

On Feb. 22, a traffic accident that reportedly involved two semi-trucks near Echo blocked lanes on Interstate 80 on Feb. 22 at 8:23 a.m.

A Summit Park resident claims “demonic or satanic symbols” were drawn in the snow on their driveway on Feb. 22 at 8:26 a.m.

A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported to the Sheriff’s Office when a van was struck by another vehicle while it was parked at Canyon Creek Club apartments on Bitner Road on Feb. 22.

Deputies assisted Park City Fire District personnel in the rescue an individual who was injured in a snowmobile crash in White Pine Canyon on Feb. 22 at 1:53 p.m.

A South Summit woman complained to a dispatcher on Feb. 22 about harassing e-mails she received from an ex-boyfriend.

On Feb. 22, a man claimed someone was shooting an air rifle out of the window of a sport-utility vehicle driving on Cutter Lane at 11:15 p.m.

A pickup truck parked in a driveway on East Meadows Drive on Feb. 23 was allegedly vandalized with paintballs.

A case of domestic violence was reported to the Sheriff’s Office from Kamas on Feb. 23 at 12:31 p.m.

An employee at the movie theater at Redstone Towne Center contacted a Sheriff’s Office dispatcher on Feb. 23 after a man reportedly grabbed a cellular telephone out of the hands of a juvenile at the establishment.

No injuries were reported when a vehicle slid off the road near Promontory on Feb. 24 at 11:46 a.m.

A 16-year-old North Summit girl reportedly survived an intentional overdose of ibuprofen and Prozac on Feb. 24 at 12:47 p.m.

A man reportedly suffered leg injuries when he crashed on a snowmobile in White Pine Canyon in Snyderville on Feb. 24 at 4:02 p.m.

Meanwhile, on Feb. 24, a 30-year-old man was injured after crashing on a snowmobile in Brown’s Canyon in South Summit. The victim reportedly rear-ended another machine.

A deputy caught three juveniles reportedly toilet-papering a house in Snyderville on Feb. 24 at 11:51 p.m.

A domestic dispute was reported to the Sheriff’s Office from a condominium near Kimball Junction on Feb. 25 at 12:47 a.m.

A hot air balloon reportedly landed on a roadway in western Summit County on Feb. 25 at 9:46 a.m.

A condominium near The Canyons was reportedly burglarized and ransacked on Feb. 26 at 12:54 a.m.
