Driver runs over $500 model car in Park Meadows

A driver swerved into the pedestrian lane of a Park Meadows street on Friday and ran over a model car, according to the Park City Police Department.

The model car is valued at $500, the police said, and was run over at 4:30 p.m. on the 2000 block of Lucky John Drive. It was destroyed.

Lt. Rick Ryan said the police were told that the model car owner saw the driver, turned the model into the pedestrian lane and watched as the motorist turned into the model.

Ryan said the driver stopped, looked at the model car and drove away.

The person was driving a white Chevrolet pickup truck with a Utah license plate, Ryan said.

On Sunday, April 16 at 11:21 p.m., the police received a complaint that a green sedan struck a sport-utility vehicle on the 800 block of Park Avenue. An officer found the suspect driver at 12:49 a.m. and cited him for public intoxication. The police said the person’s parents were called they and picked him up.

A woman called the police at 12:23 a.m. reporting that her vehicle was stolen on the 1600 block of lower Iron Horse Loop Road. It was later discovered that the vehicle had been towed.

On Saturday, April 15 at 8:08 p.m., a dark truck and a white vehicle were spotted blocking the roadway on the 2600 block of Morning Sky Court. A witness told the police that one of the vehicles was stuck in mud and had a towrope attached. It appeared that the owner had left the scene to seek help, the police said.

An officer warned a driver for three car-seat infractions on the 500 block of Marsac Avenue. The person was also warned for a stop-sign violation, the police said.

On Friday, April 14 at 11:31 p.m., the police received a complaint that someone tried to break into a coin machine on the 1300 block of Park Avenue.

The police were called to Old Town at 9:14 p.m. after a domestic-violence episode. Officers caught the suspect later, at 11:56 p.m., on the 1100 block of Snow Creek Drive.

At 9:47 p.m., a credit card was reported stolen on the 1800 block of Park Avenue. The person told the police that $500 had been charged to the card.

The police cited one person at Park City High School after an iPod was reported stolen, at 1:46 p.m.

Graffiti was reported at the China Bridge parking structure at 4:26 p.m.

At 3:17 p.m., four or five skateboarders were spotted on the 1700 block of Park Avenue. When officers arrived, they were unable to find them.

A car stereo was reportedly stolen on the 100 block of Heber Avenue. The stereo is valued at more than $200, according to the police, and the incident was reported at 2:03 p.m.

A car was reportedly stolen at 7:22 a.m. on the 1800 block of Kearns Boulevard.

On Thursday, April 13 at 8:33 p.m. the police arrested a juvenile on a charge of marijuana possession on Meadows Drive. The youth was released to parents.

A residence on the 8000 block of Royal Street was burglarized at 2:53 p.m.

A non-injury traffic accident was reported at the Old Town roundabout at 1:51 p.m. One vehicle was towed. One driver was ticketed, the police said.

Someone called the police at 12:07 p.m. reporting loud music with bad language on Meadows Drive. An officer, however, did not hear the music.

At 7:06 a.m., the police received a complaint that windows were broken out of a van in an underground parking lot on the 1500 block of Kearns Boulevard.

On Wednesday, April 12 at 7:32 p.m., a condominium was reportedly burglarized on the 100 block of Racquet Club Drive.

At 4:47 p.m., a camera was reported stolen on the 300 block of Main Street. The case is classified as a felony because the camera is valuable, the police said.

The Police Department at 3:34 p.m. received a faxed report that skis were stolen from the 1300 block of Lowell Avenue.

The police were called to what was described as a fight on the 400 block of Main Street at 12:57 a.m. Bouncers detained the suspect, who was taken into custody on charges of assault and public intoxication, the police said.

On Tuesday, April 11, the police arrested a man on a drunken-driving charge on the 1800 block of Lucky John Drive and the police said he committed a driver-license violation.

On Monday, April 10 at 11:32 a.m., the police were told that a man was driving recklessly at the Old Town roundabout. The driver reportedly honked at another motorist for driving the speed limit.

Graffiti was spotted in a parking garage on the 1500 block of Kearns Boulevard.
