Car break-ins net thieves purse, radar detector, hundreds of dollars worth of other goods

The Park City Police Department responded to a few vehicle break-ins last week in Old Town.

On Tuesday, March 21 at 1:30 p.m., a purse was missing from the 200 block of Norfolk Avenue. The purse was possibly stolen from the victim’s car, the police were told.

Just more than an hour later, at 2:45 p.m. and 2:59 p.m., two car break-ins were reported to the police.

Both involved more than $200 in goods and both occurred on the 1200 block of Sullivan Road, which borders City Park.

A day before, on Monday, March 20, a radar detector was reportedly stolen from a car at 6:31 p.m. The car was at the intersection of Marsac Avenue and Sandridge Avenue.

Other incidents reported to the Police Department last week included:

At 1:30 p.m., the police received a complaint that a purse was missing from the 200 block of Norfolk Avenue. The purse was possibly stolen from the victim’s car, the police were told.

On Sunday, March 26 at 8:29 p.m., the police were called to the 2200 block of Monitor Drive, where someone reportedly refused to turn down the music after a neighbor asked. The police told the person to keep the music down.

A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported on the 700 block of Main Street at 8:18 p.m.

A driver at 7:39 p.m. knocked over a yield sign at the Old Town roundabout and sped away, the police said. Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

The police received a complaint that skis were stolen on the 1300 block of Lowell Avenue at 3:29 p.m.

Emergency crews responded to the 200 block of Main Street at 10:29 a.m. after a 14-year-old girl reportedly overdosed on Tylenol PM. She was taken to a Salt Lake City Hospital.

On Saturday, March 25 at 10:33 p.m., a person in Prospector received a death threat over the phone, the police were told.

At 4:25 p.m., the police received a faxed-in report that skis had been stolen on the 1300 block of Deer Valley Drive. Later, another faxed arrived at the Police Department reporting that the skis were found.

At 3:38 p.m., a large box was discovered in the road on Kearns Boulevard. The Streets Department was contacted to remove the box.

An officer at 12:13 p.m. reported three dogs were seen off leashes on the 1200 block of Sullivan Road. The police talked to the owners, who said they would obey the city’s leash laws. At about the same time, at 12:12 p.m., the police were unable to catch a loose dog on the 400 block of Marsac Avenue.

At 12:22 a.m., the police issued a citation to a minor for consuming alcohol on Iron Horse Loop.

On Friday, March 24 at 11:13 p.m., a herd of deer was reported at Monitor Drive and Kearns Boulevard. An officer did not find the deer, however.

At 9:14 p.m., the police found four intoxicated youths at Park City High School. They were released to their parents.

A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported on the 1300 block of Deer Valley Drive at 6:27 p.m.

A dog reportedly bit a girl at 2:48 p.m. on the 2000 block of Paddington Drive.

A person at Park City Mountain Resort reported their skis were stolen at 11:16 a.m.

At 9:01 a.m., a hit-and-run traffic accident was reported on the 2000 block of Prospector Avenue.

On Thursday, March 23 at 3:03 p.m., the police received a complaint that prescription medicine and passports were stolen on Eagle Point Court. The goods are valued at between $50 and $200, the police said.

An officer spoke to a person about leash laws at 12:59 p.m. at the intersection of Cooke Drive and Ina Avenue.

On Wednesday, March 22 at 8:32 p.m., a person at Park City Mountain Resort reported that their snowboard was either lost or stolen.

At 5:27 p.m., a person on the 400 block of Main Street reported a camera, valued at more than $400, was stolen.

A truant student was reported from Treasure Mountain Middle School at 9:14 a.m.

Two bicycles were reportedly taken from a residence on the 600 block of Deer Valley Drive at 8:40 a.m.

On Tuesday, March 21 at 11:45 p.m., the police arrested a man in Park City on charges of domestic violence.

At 1:30 p.m., the police received a complaint that a purse was missing from the 200 block of Norfolk Avenue. The purse was possibly stolen from the victim’s car, the police were told.

A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported at Park City Mountain Resort at 9:53 p.m.

On Monday, March 20 at 12:30 p.m. a hit-and-run traffic accident was reported on the 1800 block of Park Avenue.
